Zinovia Foka is a Greek architect and urban researcher, pursuing a doctoral degree in the field of Urban Studies at Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany. Her research investigates the production of ‘shared’ space under contested space, examining the case of Nicosia, Cyprus. Her research interests include the relation of power, society and space, focusing on socio-spatial transformations, heritage-making, the production of space in divided cities, processes of bordering/de-bordering, governance and the formation of political and cultural subjectivities. Zinovia has participated in international workshops and seminars on urban transformation processes in Germany, Cyprus, Turkey, and the USA, and organized lectures and seminars at Bauhaus University Weimar and HafenCity University, Hamburg.
